Back to 2000 to 2001 Chase Reports

The start of Thunder Downunder 2000!
November 16, 2000
Only the second day of our three week chase and we were already blessed with a brief tornado from a large CJ on a hill at Cobar!
November 17, 2000
We ventured into Queensland and chased a squall line in the western Queensland before calling it a night.
November 18, 2000
A squall line developed on the trough before our attention was drawn to a possible supercell to our east that developed ahead of the trough - some great structure!
November 19, 2000
A few funnels and a wall cloud - some very well developed thunderstorms (one possible supercell) along the Warrego Hwy on a broad trough.
November 20, 2000
An amazing wall cloud from the Banana Supercell - some phenomenal structure, absolutely brilliant day!
November 21, 2001
Our first ever chase north of the Tropic of Capricorn, almost considered the tropics saw us with some impressive storms around the area.
November 22, 2001
This was a travel day, but there were a few novelties in between!
November 23, 2001
What nearly became a 700km bust became worth it just for a magnificent sunset in southern Queensland!
November 24, 2001
We met up with the southern contingent and chased some weak pulse storms in central NSW - a bit of fun, but nothing compared to a week of Queensland supercells!
November 25, 2001
Some nice storms!  Good guster and some nice features, generally a fun chase with some new dirt road experiences!
November 26, 2001
Three funnels and an afternoon supercell!  Not bad for a day's work, when it originally looked like we might only be looking at teasing CJs!
November 27, 2001
Some unexpected storms developed on the slopes with some nice structure and massive microbursts!  One produced a small tornado for a few minutes, while we were later blessed with a great sunset!
